Centre Tecnologic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC)
Welcome to CTTC
At CTTC we show every day our commitment with the crucial steps leading to better engineering and a better world. We work towards the theoretical and experimental research that lays the foundation for future relevant applications.
Centro Estudios y Experimentación de obras públicas (CEDEX)
Actividad
Since its creation, CEDEX has been designed to serve as a high-level technical assistance organization in the field of civil engineering and associated environment.
This function is mainly aimed at providing the technical support required by the Ministries of Public Works and Agriculture, Food and Environment. This does not exclude the service provided to other public and private, national or foreign organisations.
Instituto Geológico y Minero de España - CSIC
El IGME
The IGME has participated in the last 10 years in European projects that follow the research theme of the PROMETEO project, such as: FP7: DORIS and LAMPRE or DG-ECHO: SAFETY and U-GEOHAZ. Among the tasks performed, stand out the development and validation of tools based on remote-sensing and modeling of geological processes that involve risk, such as landslides, rockfalls, soil subsidy, erosion, etc.

What is GeoKinesia
Universidad de Granada
Granada y la Universidad
The UGR has two leading research groups in geological risk assessment and analysis of fluvial and coastal dynamics. The Relief Analysis and Active Processes (ARPA) group masters cutting-edge techniques such as radar-satellite interferometry or the use of drones for the analysis of dangerous geological processes on the coast. The studies of the Flow Dynamics Group are providing management tools that are currently used by entities with responsibility for coastal management. These two groups have participated in international projects of the UNDP program of the UN, initiatives of the European Space Agency and of the European programs FP7 (NOVIWAM, LAMPRE), H2020 (ECOPOTENTIAL) and Interreg (BMV, DO-SMS).
The PROMETEO consortium includes five partners. It is a good mix of two research centres (Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya – CTTC, and Instituto Geológico y Minero de España- IGME), one university (University of Granada - UGR), a public body (Centro de Estudios y Experimentación de Obras Públicas – CEDEX), and one company (GeoKinesia, GK). The partners bring to the project complementary skills and capacities. CTTC is specialized in InSAR monitoring and in data processing and analysis. IGME brings to the project its specialization in modelling and prediction. UGR has a strong background in geology and geotechnics, as well as experience in multi-source data analysis. CEDEX is strongly specialized in civil engineering. GK is a company specialized in InSAR monitoring and data analysis, which is willing to expand its core business to a wider range of deformation monitoring techniques and to modelling and prediction capabilities.
